Saturday & Sunday 13-14, 2010    Tours 12 to 4 PM
Join us at the naturalist cabin at Old Man’s Cave for the first look and taste of the season.
Pancake breakfast located at the Dining Lodge from 9am to 4 pm.

Friday March 5
3:00 PM   *CEDAR FALLS STROLL – Join the naturalist to explore Cedar Falls and discover the unique natural & cultural history of this area of the park.

Friday March 19
7:30 PM   WOODCOCK WATCH – Is this just another “snipe hunt”? No. What is an American Woodcock and why would I want to watch one? Well…this bird has one of the most elaborate courtship rituals of many of Ohio’s avian friends and one of the most intriguing to observe. Bring along a pair of binoculars and meet the naturalist on the Expedition Trail located behind the naturalist office to find out. (Unfortunately, this bird is weather-dependent so keep your fingers crossed for clear skies.)

Saturday March 20
10:00 AM   *THE WONDERS of OLD MAN’S CAVE – Meet the naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin for a short hike and discover some facts about the history of the area and the rock formations that are found throughout the park.

2:00 PM   HOCKING’S BIRDS OF PREY – Join the naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin for a closer look at Ohio’s hawks, owls, eagles and vultures.

We just left the Birds of Prey talk and it was GREAT! Our little boys loved it, and it was very clear that the naturalist loves his job. He is terrific at it.
